Construction of DN180 Heyfield to Coongulla Interconnect Pipeline and Pump Station
The Heyfield to Coongulla Interconnect project, ranked among Gippsland Water’s top 10 initiatives for 2022. Requiring the installation of a 180mm PE below-ground water main over 11kms, and an upgrade to the existing pump station. Gippsland Water’s Coongulla and Glenmaggie systems had been suffering from instability of treatable water supply. The aim of this project was to enable the supply of water from a different location, Heyfield, to ensure continuity of the service. Previously, water had been transported to Coongulla and Glenmaggie when the local treatable water supply had run out. By enabling the system to pipe water from Heyfield, the company will be able to avoid this outcome in the future and reduce community impacts that result from supply interruptions.
